"Traditional methods of treatment had proven unsuccessful"

When I arrived at the Powell Clinic here is Scottsdale, I had exhausted all of the so called "traditional" methods of treatment for my ailing elbow. Having endured nine weeks of physical therapy followed by a cortisone shot, I was desperate for relief. The care that I received was unlike any other and within two weeks I was well on my way to a pain free golf swing!

Subsequently I have endured a number of aches and pains associated with "getting older" including  severely twisting a knee that had originally been damaged playing high school football. All of my ailments have been addressed in a most professional manner and I continue to improve each week.

I cannot thank the professional staff of the clinic enough for their attention and care. I have been so impressed with the level of care that I have referred several friends and colleagues for treatment."

Sincerely,
Dave Petty

"I was unable to function in my daily routine..."

For many years I had suffered with back pain. I have sought treatment from back specialists, physical therapists and chiropractors with only short-term relief or none at all.  A year and a half ago my lower back was worse than it had ever been. I was unable to lean forward and simply brushing my teeth was extremely painful.  Again, I met with a spine specialist who put me into physical therapy. I continued to get worse and was unable to function in my daily routine.

Another concern was that I had planned my 60th birthday celebration with a group of family and friends to hike the Highlands of Scotland for a week. Reservations were made, guides were waiting, but I was having difficulty moving.  I asked everyone I met for suggestions. Two separate individuals gave me Dr. Margaret Powell’s name with wonderful recommendations.

Acupuncture?  I had never even considered it!  After only two twenty minute sessions I was already experiencing relief.  I began with three sessions a week, then two, and one a week, now I have acupuncture once a month for maintenance.  In addition, Michelle, on Dr. Powell’s staff, has educated me on correct exercise to strengthen my core.

I had a wonderful week hike in Scotland to celebrate my 60th. And now I’m completely without pain and I’m hiking Pinnacle Peak three times a week.

I thoroughly enjoy walking into the Powell Clinic. Charla, Michelle and Dr. Powell and their expertise have changed the quality of my life.

I truly thank them,
Marilyn McRae

Dr. Powell Asks some important questions of interest to Downtown Scottsdale residents - Chiropractor Downtown Scottsdale Dr. Powell Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
